Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Additional Director General (ADG), Border Security Force (BSF), Eastern Command, Kolkata, is on a four-day visit to Tripura to review border security and operational preparedness.
As per BSF, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Inspector General (IG), BSF Tripura Frontier, the ADG visited various Border Out Posts (BOPs) across the districts of West Tripura, Sepahijala, South Tripura, Gomati, and Dhalai.
During the visit, he interacted with BSF jawans and field commanders, assessing the ground situation and readiness of the troops in the sensitive border areas.
On June 27, Aggarwal addressed a Sainik Sammelan at BSF Salbagan Headquarters, where he lauded the dedication and tireless efforts of BSF personnel in safeguarding the international border.
Emphasizing the importance of health, physical fitness, and discipline, he encouraged the jawans to maintain high standards of professionalism.
During his visit, the ADG also paid courtesy calls on key dignitaries, including Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, IAS, and Director General of Police Anurag, IPS.
The meetings focused on strengthening coordination between BSF and state agencies for effective and seamless border management in Tripura.
The visit underscored the commitment of BSF’s Eastern Command to maintaining vigilance and enhancing security mechanisms along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura.
