Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Eastern Command, Border Security Force (BSF), began a four-day official visit to Tripura on Tuesday to assess the operational preparedness along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
BSF official said that ADG Aggarwal was received at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport by Inspector General (IG) of BSF Tripura Frontier, Ashwani Kumar Sharma.
On his arrival at the BSF Frontier Headquarters in Agartala, the ADG was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour.
Following the reception, the ADG was briefed by IG Sharma on critical operational issues, prevailing security challenges, and strategic deployment in the region.
As part of his field tour, ADG Aggarwal visited key border outposts including BOP Bhagalpur, BOP Lankamura, and the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Agartala under West District.
During the visits, he reviewed the security infrastructure and interacted with field commanders and jawans to take stock of their preparedness and morale.
The visit underscores the BSF's focus on strengthening border management and enhancing coordination among ground units to counter cross-border threats effectively.
ADG Aggarwal is scheduled to continue his engagements with senior officials and inspect additional strategic locations during his stay in the state.
