Health worker’s body recovered from Dumbur reservoir after days-long search

The body of health worker Jiban Choudhury, who had been missing since the night of Vishwakarma Puja, was recovered from the Dumbur reservoir on Sunday morning, bringing an end to a days-long search operation.

Choudhury had reportedly gone missing on the night of Vishwakarma Puja. Following his disappearance, family members and authorities launched a search operation in and around the reservoir. However, despite sustained efforts, no information about his whereabouts could be obtained for several days.

On Sunday morning, his body was spotted floating in the waters of the Dumbur reservoir. After being alerted, police and administrative officials reached the area and recovered the body.

The body was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. After completion of the necessary formalities, it was handed over to the family.

Police have started an investigation into the incident. The exact circumstances surrounding Choudhury’s death have not yet been established.

The recovery of the body has left the family and local residents in mourning.
