A potentially serious road accident was avoided on Monday after the vehicle carrying Tripura Legislative Assembly Chief Whip and Teliamura MLA Kalyani Saha Roy met with an accident in the Baramura Hills region.
Sources said the incident took place while her vehicle was passing through a sharp bend on the hilly road. At that moment, it collided with a Bolero pickup truck approaching from the opposite direction. The collision caused damage to both vehicles and created a brief commotion in the area.
Kalyani Saha Roy reportedly sustained minor injuries in the mishap. Her two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and Confidential Assistant (CA), who were accompanying her, also suffered minor injuries.
Following the accident, local residents and law enforcement personnel quickly reached the spot and assisted the injured. All those affected received immediate medical care, and officials confirmed that their condition remains stable and out of danger.
Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
