Tripura under Yellow alert: heatwave and high humidity to persist for next 3 days

The Meteorological Department in Agartala has issued a Yellow warning for Tripura, forecasting persistent hot and humid weather for the next three days.

According to the department, the combination of a partly cloudy sky, intense solar radiation, and the movement of hot westerly winds is expected to push daytime temperatures to 36°C or higher in some areas of the state. Temperatures may remain 3 to 4°C above normal levels across different districts during this period.

Additionally, an increase in atmospheric moisture is likely in certain parts of Tripura, further contributing to rising humidity levels, the department added.

The prevailing weather conditions pose health risks such as heat exhaustion, heat stroke, dehydration, and exacerbation of pre-existing health conditions, including asthma, heart ailments, and kidney issues.
