Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday held a meeting with Kolkata Nicco Park Managing Director Rajiv Kaul to discuss the establishment of an eco-park modeled after Kolkata's Nicco Park at Sachindranagar Colony in Jirania under West District.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury stated that the entire state is progressing on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Majlishpur Assembly Constituency is keeping pace with modernization.
“To put the state's tourism industry on the world map and make Tripura more attractive to both domestic and international tourists, a state-of-the-art eco-park will be built in Sachindranagar Colony, Jirania, at an estimated cost of about ₹50 crore, modeled after Kolkata's Nicco Park,” he said.
He further mentioned that after receiving approval for the construction of this park under the central government's 'Swadesh Darshan 2.0' project, efforts are being made to expedite the work. To this end, he visited the entire area along with Kolkata Nicco Park Managing Director Rajiv Kaul, President Rahul Mitra, Arup Goswami, and Secretary of the Tourism Department Uttam Kumar Chakma, along with other officials and local residents.
“The construction of this park will not only generate employment opportunities but also enhance the quality of life for the people in this area,” he added.
