As part of the mission to plant at least one core sapling, Positive Barta – a digital information sharing platform, launched by leading education lover and entrepreneur Malay Pit, who runs Santiniketan Medical College in Tripura and West Bengal along with 75 more academic and training institution,s on July 15 planted thousands of seedlings in different locations across India.
The women entrepreneurs in Tripura’s different districts, under the initiative of Positive Barta, marked the day by planting locally available plant species of fruits, flowers, medicinal plants, and timber trees, involving the local people. The promising women entrepreneurs like Shilpi Sarkar, Sulata Shil Roy, Puja Pal, and Rakhi Das made huge plantations across Subal Singh and Hezamara under Mohanpur in West Tripura.
Similarly, Ruksana Begam, Nilima Begam, Kakali Namo, Imran Begam, Mina Das Debnath, Ruma Debnath, Priyanka Sarkar, and Priyanka Pal led a massive plantation drive in East Laxmibill area under Sepahijala district disseminating the call for a green earth to fight against global warming and climate change.
To pursue the call for an eco-sustainable future of Malay Pit, Shilpi Sarkar, Sangeet Rishidas, Susmita Rishidas, and Rita Rishidas executed a massive plantation drive in Fatikroy of Unakoti district. Several other NGOs and individuals have also made plantation at different villages in various districts in different states on the day and held programs to motivate the common people to join the movement.
The next phase of the plantation is scheduled to be held across the country on July 31.
Appreciating the overwhelming response of the society, Positive Barta founder Malay Pit said, “The major parts of India receive monsoon rain in July and August, for which different states observe Vanamahoutsav during this time for mass plantation. Positive Barta took the initiative for the first time to sensitize the people of the country for plantation to counter the environmental adversity and it works well.”

We are running TV channels in most parts of the country through the local cable network, besides all digital forms of publicity. We aim to create a viewership who loves to see the positive news – ultimately, help the society to build a positive thinking generation, and the mission of one crore tree plantation is to unite the people for a positive cause,” Pit underlined.
