Agartala Smart City Project nears completion, final phase to conclude by May 2025

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced today that nearly 95% of the Agartala Smart City Project has been completed, with the remaining works slated for completion by May 2025. 

He shared this update while addressing a calling attention notice raised by MLA Gopal Chandra Roy on the last day of the Tripura Legislative Assembly session.

The Chief Minister further elaborated that, according to the Union Cabinet's approval, the Smart Cities Mission will conclude on June 30, 2025, with no official extension beyond this date as yet. 

The Agartala Smart City Mission carries a total cost of Rs. 541.04 crore, with the central government contributing Rs. 490 crore and the state government providing Rs. 51.04 crore, split in a 90:10 ratio.

Dr. Saha highlighted that a total of 65 projects have been undertaken under the Smart City Mission, with 62 projects, valued at Rs. 375.97 crore, already completed in Agartala. Only three projects are currently under progress, including the four-laning of Airport Road (Rs. 96.17 crore), the revitalization of MBB College Lake (Rs. 32.31 crore), and the development of a Children's Park (Rs. 7.64 crore). These remaining projects are expected to reach completion by May 2025.
