A shocking incident created panic on Tuesday morning in the Bahadurpara (Monurmukh) area under Belonia Police Station in Tripura, where a young man allegedly attempted suicide by jumping in front of a moving train. 

He is currently undergoing treatment at GB Hospital in Agartala.

According to reports, the incident occurred at around 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday. The injured youth has been identified as Sadhan Dhar (33), a resident of the North Sonaichhari area.

Sources said that a DEMU train traveling from Belonia to Agartala via Santirbazar was passing through the Bahadurpara (Monurmukh) area when Sadhan Dhar suddenly jumped in front of it. As a result of the impact, his left wrist was severed, but remarkably he survived the accident.

After receiving information about the incident, local fire service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued him. He was first taken to Belonia Sub-Divisional Hospital for initial treatment. However, due to the seriousness of his injuries, doctors later referred him to GB Hospital in Agartala for advanced medical care.

The exact reason behind the alleged suicide attempt is still unknown. The incident has triggered speculation in the locality, while the victim’s family members are reportedly shocked and deeply concerned.

Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
