Yaba Tablets Worth Rs 10 Lakh Seized Along Indo-Bangladesh Border in Tripura

Tripura Police recovered a large consignment of narcotics worth Rs 10 lakh from near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Sepahijala district.

Officer-in-Charge of Sonamura Police Station, Tapas Das, said that during late-night patrolling at NC Nagar area on Tuesday late night, police spotted 50 plastic pouches wrapped with cellotape lying abandoned near the border fence. On inspection, the pouches were found to contain 10,000 Yaba tablets.

“The contraband was seized after completing all legal formalities. An investigation has been initiated to trace those behind the consignment,” Das said.

Police suspect the drugs were meant for cross-border smuggling.
