In a significant step to assist citizens in recovering lost belongings, West Agartala Police have traced and returned 26 missing mobile phones to their respective owners.

Addressing the media, SDPO Pannalal Sen said complaints regarding the missing phones had been recorded through Cyber Investigation Reports (CIRs) over the past one-and-a-half months. Police subsequently used cyber-tracking and investigative methods to trace the devices and recover them.

After confirming the ownership details and completing the necessary verification process, the recovered phones were formally handed back to the complainants.

Police officials said efforts are continuing to trace other missing mobile devices reported to the department. The recovery drive highlights the growing role of cyber investigation in tracking lost electronic devices and providing relief to citizens.

Meanwhile, security arrangements have been strengthened at several key locations across Agartala. Additional personnel have been deployed, CCTV monitoring has been enhanced and special patrols are being conducted to maintain public safety and prevent incidents.

The recipients thanked the police for recovering their phones, while the initiative has been welcomed by local residents as a positive example of citizen-oriented policing.
