Assam Rifles marked Daan Utsav – The Joy of Giving Week by reaching out to elderly people and children at two care institutions in Tripura on Thursday, with an initiative aimed at spreading joy, compassion and a sense of belonging among those in need.
Assam Rifles personnel visited Sevic Senior Citizens Home at Tepania in Udaipur, Gomati district, and Aalor Dishari Children Home at Shalgara in Amtali, Sepahijala district, where they interacted with residents and distributed essential provisions and daily-use items.
At Sevic Senior Citizens Home, the personnel spent time with the elderly residents, listened to their experiences and engaged with them in an atmosphere of warmth and companionship. The initiative also sought to recognise and honour the contributions of senior citizens to society.
At Aalor Dishari Children Home, Assam Rifles personnel interacted with the children, encouraged them to remain dedicated to their studies and motivated them to work towards achieving their aspirations. Essential provisions and other items required by the children were also handed over during the visit.
The caretakers and staff of both institutions expressed their appreciation for the Assam Rifles’ gesture and its continued commitment to supporting vulnerable sections of society.
The outreach programme also helped strengthen bonds of trust and camaraderie between Assam Rifles personnel and the local community.
Through the initiative, Assam Rifles reaffirmed that Daan Utsav is not only about giving material support but also about expressing care, respect, compassion and solidarity with those who need it most.
