Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday reviewed preparations for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations in Jirania subdivision, stressing the need for close coordination among the administration, police and various government agencies to ensure a peaceful and hassle-free festival.
Chowdhury chaired a preparatory meeting at the conference hall of the Jirania Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office, where elected representatives, senior police and administrative officials and representatives of different government departments were present.
The meeting focused on a range of arrangements required ahead of the festival, with particular attention to maintaining law and order, regulating traffic, strengthening security, ensuring essential public services and addressing the needs of residents as well as visitors.
The minister directed the concerned authorities to remain vigilant throughout the festive period and ensure that adequate measures are in place for the safety and convenience of the public. He also emphasised the importance of effective traffic management, particularly at busy locations and around major Puja venues.
Chowdhury called upon all stakeholders to work together to preserve peace, communal harmony and discipline during the celebrations. He expressed confidence that coordinated efforts would help ensure that Durga Puja is observed in a safe and festive atmosphere across Jirania subdivision.
The minister also conveyed his greetings to the people on the occasion of Durga Puja and wished for peace, happiness and prosperity for all.
