Tension gripped the Dayalpara area of Veluarchar under the Boxanagar Assembly segment during the 19th TTADC election after reports of bomb explosions and gunfire created panic among voters and residents.

Voting began at 7 a.m. on Sunday, with voters lining up early in the morning to exercise their franchise. The polling process initially remained peaceful and orderly. However, as the day progressed, tensions reportedly escalated between supporters of the Tipra Motha and the BJP.

According to allegations, outside BJP supporters gathered at the Dayalpara field area, which led to a deterioration in the situation. In response, Tipra Motha supporters allegedly advanced with sticks, prompting intervention by paramilitary forces and police, who used baton charges to disperse both groups.

The situation further worsened with allegations of six bomb blasts and gunfire in the area. Two of the bombs reportedly landed near the polling station, causing panic among voters. During the incident, Tipra Motha supporter Abhiram Debbarma was injured.

Tipra Motha has alleged that Boxanagar MLA Tofazzal Hossain was involved in the incident and that it occurred under his leadership. However, there has been no official response from the other side regarding these allegations so far.

Following the reports, District Superintendent of Police Vijay Debbarma arrived at the scene with a large police force. Additional security personnel, including CRPF units, have been deployed, and the situation remains tense but under control.
