Pradip Datta Bhowmik, veteran journalist of Tripura and News Editor of Dainik Sangbad Patrika, passed away today at AIIMS, New Delhi, after a prolonged illness.
He was undergoing treatment at the premier medical institute for the past several days.
Announcing the news of his demise, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to the senior journalist.
“I am deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Pradip Datta Bhowmik, News Editor of Dainik Sangbad Patrika and a respected senior journalist. He had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Delhi, for several days. I was in regular contact with him and his family. Despite all medical efforts, he passed away today around 3:45 PM. We are deeply saddened by this loss,” the Chief Minister said.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones, and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Bhowmik was known for his decades-long contribution to Tripura's journalism, and his passing has left a void in the media fraternity of the state.
