Two MNREGA workers lost their lives and two others were critically injured after a tree fell on them while they were digging a pond on Wednesday at Nailahabari village under Ambassa sub-division of Dhalai district. 

According to details, MNREGA work was underway in Nailahabari village under the Ambassa block when the incident occurred. A tree suddenly fell during the ongoing work, killing two workers on the spot and leaving two others seriously injured. 

The deceased have been identified as Robert Molsom (22) and Juhirani Molsom. The injured workers—Suryasa Molsom (35) and Jagatbhakta Molsom (50)—have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. 

Speaking on the matter, Ambassa Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nirupam Datta said, “Today at around 11:30 am, MNREGA work was underway in Nailahabari village when a tree suddenly fell on the workers. Two died on the spot, and two others were seriously injured and have been admitted to the hospital.”
