A serious road accident occurred today near the Kakulia Bridge in Jolaibari of South District involving a head-on collision between a lorry and a motorcycle. Two people were injured in the crash.
According to reports, the incident involved a lorry bearing registration number TR-03-L-1712 and a Hero Glamour motorcycle with registration TR-08-6483. The motorcycle driver, Khokon Patari (55), and his passenger, Rupen Patari (16), sustained serious injuries.
Police from the Zolaibari police outpost quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured to Jolaibari Hospital. Doctors provided immediate treatment, and both injured persons were discharged after their condition stabilized.
Meanwhile, the lorry driver, identified as Bardhan Tripura from the Ratanpur area, fled the scene following the accident. Authorities have launched an investigation and are conducting a search to apprehend the driver. The incident has caused significant concern in the local community. Police stated that the suspect will be arrested soon.
