The 3rd Battalion of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) has suspended and initiated disciplinary proceedings against a Ward Boy after a video surfaced showing TSR personnel kicking a man sitting on the road.
The Ward Boy from TSR was deployed in Agartala city under the Traffic Department.
Binoy Debbarma, Commandant of the 3rd Battalion Tripura State Rifles, stated in the order that disciplinary proceedings against Ward Boy Suman Das of the 3rd Battalion TSR are being contemplated.
“NOW, THEREFORE, the undersigned, being the appointing authority, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of Rule-10 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965 read with Rule-43 of the Tripura State Rifles (DCSC, etc.) Rules, 1988, hereby places the said No. 02091055 E/F (Ward Boy) Suman Das under suspension with immediate effect,” the order reads.
It further states that during the period this order remains in force, the headquarters of (Ward Boy) Suman Das shall be 3 Bn TSR, Kachucherra, and he shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission from the undersigned.
