In a commendable display of promptness and compassion, Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury sprang into action on Sunday after witnessing a road accident near Tepania Park in Udaipur sub-division of Gomati district.
The incident occurred while the minister was en route to Banduar to attend the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of a tourism project. Upon noticing an overturned auto-rickshaw along the road, Minister Chowdhury immediately halted his convoy and rushed to the spot.
Showing exemplary on-ground leadership, the minister personally assisted in rescuing a passenger trapped inside the vehicle and ensured the damaged auto was safely moved away from the road.
His swift and humane response earned widespread appreciation from locals and bystanders at the scene.
Eyewitnesses lauded the minister’s gesture, describing it as a rare example of public service beyond protocol.
