Tripura’s Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the national capital to discuss ongoing initiatives and future plans for boosting tourism in the state.

During the meeting, Chowdhury briefed Sitharaman on the Tourism Department’s activities and sought central assistance for the implementation of several new projects aimed at enhancing Tripura’s tourism potential.

“The Hon’ble Union Finance Minister assured me of all possible cooperation for the development of tourism in Tripura,” Chowdhury said.

Senior officials, including the Secretary and Director of the Tourism Department, accompanied the minister during the discussions.

The meeting is expected to pave the way for additional investment and support in tourism infrastructure, which the state government views as a key driver of economic growth and employment generation.
