he Tripura government has approved the creation and recruitment of 555 new posts across multiple departments and announced plans to establish new Ayurvedic and Homeopathy medical colleges and hospitals.

Tripura Cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, several significant decisions were taken in the recent cabinet meeting.

Among the key approvals:

  • Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD): The cabinet approved the recruitment of 110 veterinary officers (Group B) through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).

  • Health and Family Welfare Department: 100 posts for Multi-Purpose Workers will be created, with an equal number of 50 male and 50 female candidates to be selected through an examination.

  • New Medical Colleges: A new Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital with a 60-seat intake will be established at Tepania in the Gomati district, starting from the academic year 2026–27, with a temporary campus at Chandrapur. A new Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital with 60 seats will be set up at the Netaji Subhas State Home Hospital in Agartala, West Tripura.

  • Directorate of Prosecution: Approval was given to fill eight posts of Multi-Tasking Staff through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).

  • Tripura State Rifles: The house rent allowance for personnel deployed in New Delhi will increase from 24% to 27%, effective November 2024.

  • Power Department: Seven posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) will be filled for the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA).

  • Tribal Welfare Department: The boarding house stipend has been raised from ₹80 to ₹100 per day.

  • Information Technology Department: Creation and recruitment of 330 new posts under the Tripura Information Technology Service were approved.

Chowdhury emphasized that these decisions aim to strengthen healthcare, governance, and essential services in Tripura while providing employment opportunities across sectors.
