The 23rd Central Conference of the Tripura Rajya Gana Mukti Parishad (TRGMP) is scheduled for January 29 and 30 at Agartala Town Hall, with senior CPI(M) leaders expected to be in attendance. Prominent figures including Politburo member Brinda Karat and State Secretary Jiten Chaudhury are likely to address the event.

The announcement was made today by TRGMP President Naresh Jamatia during a press briefing. He noted that the organization is active across 23 sub-divisions, 157 regions, and 796 units. The upcoming conference will see the participation of 550 delegates.

President Jamatia highlighted that the organization has witnessed substantial growth since 2022, now boasting nearly 88,000 members. Preliminary meetings at the unit and sub-division levels have been highly successful, with a notable rise in youth participation this year.

The conference will officially begin at 11 a.m. on January 29 at Agartala Town Hall. The program will start with flag hoisting and other organizational activities, followed by a public rally at 12 p.m. in front of Rabindra Shatabdi Bhavan. CPI(M) leaders, including Brinda Karat and Jiten Chaudhury, are expected to address the gathering.

Jamatia emphasized that this year’s conference aims to strengthen efforts against divisive politics. The public rally will also focus on pressing issues impacting the community, including employment, filling of vacant posts, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), and other key public welfare concerns.
