In a major anti-drug crackdown, Tripura Police seized a significant quantity of Yaba tablets worth around Rs 8 lakh and arrested two individuals in Bodhjungnagar, located on the outskirts of Agartala.
According to Officer-in-Charge Prashanta Deb of Bodhjungnagar Police Station, the operation took place on Monday during routine naka checking at Satmukhia.
“We intercepted an auto-rickshaw for inspection and recovered roughly 8,000 Yaba tablets from the suspects. The auto driver, however, managed to flee the scene,” he said.
Police revealed that one of the arrested individuals is from Aralia in Agartala, while the other comes from Sepahijala district. “Both accused have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under the relevant legal provisions. They were produced in court today, and police remand has been requested to carry out further interrogation,” officials added.
