Tripura Police Destroy Massive Cannabis Plantation in Sidhai Mohanpur

In a major anti-narcotics operation, authorities in West Tripura’s Sidhai Mohanpur area, under Sidhai Mohanpur police station, have destroyed a large illegal cannabis plantation. 

The operation targeted 11 plots of government and private land in the Noawagaon area, where approximately 30,000 cannabis plants were uprooted and set ablaze.

The operation was led by the West Tripura district police, with participation from Mohonpur Subdivision Police Officer Ashish Dasgupta, Sidhaimohanpur Officer-in-Charge Ajit Kanti Chakma, OC of Sundar Tilla Police Outpost, Dhrubajay Riang, 124 Battalion CRPF, and a large contingent of police and TSR jawans.

Speaking to the media, Mohonpur Subdivision Police Officer Ashish Dasgupta said, “This action is part of our commitment to a drug-free Tripura. Similar operations will continue in the coming days to ensure the region remains free from narcotics.”
