Tripura IAS placed on compulsory waiting amid allegations of irregularities

In the interest of public service, the Governor of Tripura has placed Abhisek Chandra, IAS, Special Secretary, Planning (Statistics) Department, on compulsory waiting for posting with immediate effect and until further orders.

According to an official notification, the charge of the Planning (Statistics) Department will now remain with Shri L.T. Darlong, Secretary, Planning & Coordination and other Departments, as an additional responsibility.

It has also been stated that Chandra’s pay and allowances during the compulsory waiting period will be drawn and disbursed by the General Administration (SA) Department.

While the official order does not cite any reason for the move, government sources indicated that Chandra has been reportedly found involved in various irregularities and illegal activities, which may have prompted the decision.
