Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that one can establish oneself in society by acquiring knowledge through real education, and that the state government’s goal is to produce excellent students from every school in Tripura. To achieve this, various steps have been taken to improve the quality of the education system in the state.

Dr. Saha said this today while laying the foundation stone of the new building of Bapuji Vidyamandir High School at Bhattapukur in Agartala.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that Bapuji Vidyamandir School officially began its journey in January 1953. He recalled that late Nabin Chandra Chakraborty donated approximately one kani of land for the establishment of the school.

The Chief Minister said that he speaks about the issue of bhoomi pujan everywhere, as it is closely linked to the motherland.

“This issue is related to our motherland. Although the previous government did not believe in such values, for us, the mother is everything. Everything is created in the lap of the mother. Therefore, the foundation stone of the school building was laid today by bowing to the mother,” he said.

Dr. Saha further noted that in 2024, the school was upgraded to English medium, and in the same year, it achieved a 100 percent pass rate, which he described as a very positive sign.

During his address, the Chief Minister called upon everyone to work together to build a new Tripura.

“Education is essential. We cannot move forward without it. Education has no end; learning must continue throughout life. Teachers must also keep themselves updated with the times. We want excellent students to emerge from every school in Tripura. By going beyond conventional education, children will be able to establish themselves in society. In social life, when problems arise, people listen to educated individuals. If we can move from darkness to light and from ignorance to knowledge through real education, we can establish ourselves in society. Education shapes the mind, and self-establishment ultimately depends on oneself,” he said.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly emphasized that education cannot be acquired merely by reading textbooks, and that basic education serves as a tool for values, development, and nation-building.
