A devastating fire broke out on Monday morning at the residence of Arbinda Bhattacharjee in the Champamura area under Bishalgarh Police Station, reportedly due to an electrical short circuit.
The sudden outbreak of the fire triggered panic among local residents.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Fire and Emergency Services Department was immediately alerted. Firefighters rushed to the spot and began operations to bring the blaze under control.
After prolonged efforts, the fire was finally extinguished.
As a result of the fire, one room of the house was completely gutted. However, due to the prompt action of the firefighters, two other rooms were successfully saved from being engulfed by the flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
The extent of the damage caused by the fire is currently being assessed.
