Tripura Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma today chaired a District Level Review Meeting of the Forest Department at the Bagafa FDA Conference Hall of South Tripura District underscoring the importance of strengthening forest governance and ensuring the timely execution of government schemes.

Senior officials, including RK Samal and K. Sasikumar, along with the CCF (Territorial), DFO South, and other departmental officers, participated in the meeting. 

The minister reviewed ongoing projects, conservation strategies, and plantation drives, emphasizing measures to enhance ecological sustainability across South Tripura district.

Minister Debbarma highlighted the need for improved coordination between field officials to ensure that government initiatives for forest protection and community welfare are implemented efficiently and on schedule. 

“Timely execution of schemes is key to achieving sustainable development while protecting our forests,” he said.

Following the meeting, the minister visited the Muhuripur Centrally Nursery Unit to evaluate sapling production and its contribution to expanding green cover. He also inspected Dhananjay Tripura Eco Park at Jolaibari, stressing the role of eco-tourism in promoting environmental awareness and creating local livelihood opportunities.

The visit reinforced the government’s commitment to sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and balanced regional development, with a clear focus on delivering the benefits of forest-related schemes to the people promptly.
