Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today said that the goal of Viksit Tripura 2047 is to ensure an inclusive, safe, prosperous, and healthy future for the people. Within this period, he emphasized, the state has to transform into a strong economy in order to become a developed Tripura.

He said that Tripura has been recognized as a top-performing state in the index published by NITI Aayog.

“One of our goals is to build close relations with the countries of South East Asia in various fields,” said Dr. Saha.

The Chief Minister said this at a programme organized to mark the release of the Viksit Tripura 2047 Vision Document at Prajna Bhavan in Agartala today.

At the programme, Dr. Saha said, “We have discussed the Viksit Tripura 2047 Vision Document in the Secretariat. All the officials, starting from the Chief Secretary, were present there. A presentation was given in that meeting. After thorough reviews, the Viksit Tripura Document has been prepared. Our state is also at the forefront in preparing the draft for the formation of a Developed Tripura. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has firmly spoken about building a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He has emphasized development and progress in all aspects based on various parameters.”

Dr. Saha further said that after the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government came to power, all decisions are taken keeping in mind specific guidelines, roadmaps, and timelines. The state government is also working in that direction.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special importance to self-reliance and innovation. He has stressed Vocal for Local to strengthen the country’s economic system. Along with this, he has emphasized citizen empowerment. For that purpose, our state has to be self-reliant with the active participation of all people. This will make the state strong and powerful. Since Narendra Modi took charge as the Prime Minister in 2014, the states of the North Eastern region have changed significantly. He has adopted the Act East Policy for the development of this region. Tripura is moving forward in all directions as per the vision of the Prime Minister,” said Dr. Saha.

At the event, the Chief Minister also said that the state government is continuously working to improve health services.

“The health system has improved in the state compared to before. The government is also working towards Digital Tripura. Investors are now coming to Tripura from outside as well.Many industries are being developed in the state through MSMEs based on bamboo, rubber, and forest resources. The GSDP in the state increased by 14.21% in 2023–24. Tripura is ranked second among the states in the North Eastern region in terms of GSDP and per capita income,” he said.

The Chief Minister added that Tripura is being praised and recognized on various parameters and, till July, the current government has provided 19,742 government jobs, including die-in-harness appointments, through Swachhta. The government is also working towards 100 percent electrification in rural areas of the state.

“The use of solar energy is also increasing. The government has raised access to clean drinking water from 3 percent to more than 86 percent. The target is to provide clean drinking water to 100 percent of households by next year,” he added.
