In preparation for the upcoming Budget Session for the financial year 2026–27, Pranajit Singha Roy, Finance Minister of Tripura, convened a series of high-level meetings at the State Secretariat on Thursday to review departmental allocations and financial plans.

The Tripura Legislative Assembly is scheduled to commence the Budget Session on March 13, 2026. Ahead of this, the Finance Minister engaged with senior officials to examine the proposed framework for income and expenditure for the next fiscal year.

During these deliberations, Brijesh Pandey and Abhishek Singh, Secretaries to the Government of Tripura, along with other senior officials, reviewed key financial proposals and discussed budgetary priorities.

A separate preparatory meeting was held with Ratan Lal Nath, Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Power, and Election, to strategize the allocation of funds across various sectors. The discussions emphasized balanced financial planning and the efficient distribution of resources for 2026–27.

Additionally, the Finance Minister met with Sudhangshu Das, Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, Animal Resource Development, and Fisheries. Senior departmental officials participated in reviewing both the provisional revised estimates for 2025–26 and the budget proposals for the upcoming year.

The meetings included detailed discussions on projected revenue and expenditure across sectors, focusing on effective fund allocation, enhanced financial management, and alignment with departmental priorities. Officials noted that these preparatory discussions are crucial for finalizing proposals and ensuring a smooth presentation during the Budget Session later this month.
