Ahead of the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections scheduled for April 12, Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag conducted a detailed review of security arrangements in Khowai and Dhalai districts on Thursday.

The review meeting was held at the office of the Superintendent of Police in Khowai, with participation from the SP of Dhalai district as well as commandants of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) units deployed in both districts.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, the DGP stated that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and orderly election process. He emphasized that the purpose of his visit was to assess the preparedness of the police forces and evaluate whether any additional steps were required.

“We reviewed the existing security framework and discussed further measures needed to maintain law and order before, during, and after the polling process,” he said.

The DGP also highlighted that adequate security personnel have already been deployed across both districts. Continuous monitoring and regular review meetings are being conducted to keep the situation under control.

He further added that the administration is committed to ensuring a safe environment for candidates to campaign freely without any disruptions, and that all necessary actions will be taken to guarantee smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections.
