Kailashahar MLA Birajit Sinha has demanded a fair, transparent, and judicial inquiry into the mysterious death of Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar, saying the incident has raised several unanswered questions among the public.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Sinha said that if the case is indeed a suicide, the circumstances and reasons that led the senior police officer to take such an extreme step must be brought before the public. He asserted that the truth can only be established through an inquiry led by a judge of a higher court.

The MLA said the demand for a transparent investigation is not limited to the opposition, as people across Tripura and the country are also seeking clarity on the incident. He stressed that a judicial probe is the most appropriate way to ensure an impartial investigation and restore public confidence.

Sinha also urged Chief Minister Manik Saha to take a clear stand on the issue and initiate a judicial investigation at the earliest so that all questions surrounding the DGP's death are answered and public doubts are removed.

The death of DGP Anurag Dhankar has already sparked widespread concern across the state, with several political parties and organisations demanding an independent and unbiased investigation. The progress of the probe continues to be closely watched.
