Tripura CM's poster Found in Drain Outside Tripura Secretariat, Sparks Questions

A banner of Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha was discovered lying in a roadside drain outside the state Secretariat on Friday, raising concerns about maintenance and oversight in one of the most sensitive administrative areas of the state capital.

Local residents reported that the photograph appeared to have been in the drain for a significant period.

The stretch outside the Secretariat witnesses daily traffic of ministers, departmental secretaries, IAS officers, and other senior officials. Yet, the photograph’s presence went unnoticed or unattended, drawing public criticism.

Eyewitnesses at the scene expressed frustration over the incident. “This is not just a picture of any individual; it is the photograph of the Chief Minister. Such negligence reflects administrative indifference,” said one passerby. Another resident commented that if this can happen outside the Secretariat, it raises questions about the maintenance and supervision of other public spaces.

Residents noted that the matter is not merely about a discarded photograph but signals deeper issues of accountability, vigilance, and upkeep of prominent government premises.

Many are questioning why proper measures were not in place to ensure cleanliness and uphold the dignity of such an important location.
