Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and meritocracy in public recruitment, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday said that jobs in the state are being offered solely on the basis of talent and eligibility—without any external influence or political intervention.

Speaking at an offer letter distribution and mega blood donation camp held at Prajna Bhavan, the Chief Minister said that the state government has undertaken multiple initiatives to strengthen the public distribution system by filling key vacancies in the Food Department.

“As part of this process, 15 food inspectors selected through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) received their appointment letters today,” Dr. Saha announced. He also stated that the department is set to recruit 12 more food inspectors, 3 purification assistants, 6 storekeepers, and 35 store guards.

“These recruitments are being carried out following proper government guidelines, ensuring transparency at every step,” the Chief Minister said, adding, “Our government is committed to offering jobs to deserving candidates based on merit, not through influence or political favoritism.”

The program was jointly organized by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Tourism Department, and Transport Department. Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury was present at the event along with several senior officials.

Highlighting the contrast with previous regimes, Dr. Saha said, “In the past, job offers were distributed from party offices or even sent to people’s homes. We are proud to say that our government is issuing appointment letters in public, with complete transparency. This is the difference between us and them.”

He emphasized that no one could claim they received a job through political connections under the current administration. “Every job offered is a result of hard work, talent, and following due process. This ensures quality service delivery and contributes to good governance,” he added.

Dr. Saha also mentioned that 19,262 individuals, including beneficiaries under the die-in-harness scheme, have been recruited across various departments since the current government assumed office.

He further highlighted the administration’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector. “Since 2018, the government has procured around 2.25 lakh metric tons of paddy from farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP), spending Rs 446 crore, which has been directly credited to the farmers’ bank accounts,” the Chief Minister informed.
