A school function at Amtali Higher Secondary School near Agartala turned unexpectedly tense on Monday when Principal Ratna Chowdhury suddenly collapsed on stage mid-event.
In an inspiring display of composure and compassion, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, who was attending the program as the chief guest, immediately sprang into action.
Drawing on his medical expertise—Dr. Saha is also the state’s health minister—he administered first aid to the ailing principal on the spot, ensuring she received immediate care before medical personnel arrived.
Chowdhury began to recover shortly after the intervention, thanks to the Chief Minister’s timely and hands-on response. Eyewitnesses, including students, teachers, and other dignitaries, were visibly moved by the CM’s presence of mind and empathetic gesture.
Dr. Saha was at the school to inaugurate a newly constructed building, as part of a broader initiative that also saw the virtual inauguration of new infrastructure at Henry Derozio Academy, Gandhigram H.S. School, Taltala H.S. School, Indranagar High School, and Nandan Nagar H.S. School.
What began as a moment of crisis ultimately became a moment of inspiration, with many praising the Chief Minister for his rare blend of leadership and humanity.
