Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Tripura, stating that students—the nation’s future—must receive holistic and value-based learning. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions a “New India” powered by the youth.

Dr. Saha made these remarks while inaugurating the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Udaipur Ramesh XII Class School, one of Tripura’s historic and reputed educational institutions.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said, “We aim to shape a New Tripura, embracing all communities—jaati, janajati, Manipuris, and other minorities. Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. Our state and country are progressing rapidly under the double-engine government of Prime Minister Modi. Opposition rhetoric and old slogans no longer hold relevance.”

He added that the day marks an important milestone for Ramesh School, which began its journey on January 2, 1951, under the vision of Ramesh Chandra Dutta. Later, his son Dhirendra Chandra Dutta carried forward the legacy of the school. The government now provides aid to 42 schools in Tripura, including Ramesh School, and is working to fill remaining staff and teacher vacancies.

Dr. Saha announced that Rs 8.51 crore has been allocated for Ramesh School’s infrastructure development, which includes a new building, an auditorium, and a synthetic football ground. He said, “Schools are like temples. If students, the future of the nation, are not given proper education, gaps will emerge. We are committed to the holistic development of all schools in Tripura.”

The Chief Minister highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s emphasis on education that goes beyond academics to include values, skill development, and nation-building. He suggested incorporating meditation for 10–15 minutes before and after sports to enhance focus and balance.

“India has the largest youth population, between ages 18 and 35, and this human resource is crucial for the country’s progress. Initiatives like exam stress reduction programs are steps toward nurturing well-rounded students,” he said.

Dr. Saha concluded by reaffirming the government’s efforts to improve the quality of education and create an environment where students can thrive academically, spiritually, and physically.
