Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today said that India’s defence sector has become self-reliant and modernized with cutting-edge combat technology due to the consistent efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at a joint drone exercise of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles at the Assam Rifles Maidan, Dr. Saha said the use of drone technology has significantly expanded in modern warfare and counter-terrorism operations.

“This is indeed a matter of pride. We want our state and nation to remain secure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Defence Minister have repeatedly assured that the country is safe. This was evident during Operation Sindoor, when terrorist camps were destroyed within just 25 minutes,” Dr. Saha said.

Highlighting the importance of the demonstration in Tripura, he said, “Technology has advanced, and such initiatives are vital for every state. We witnessed drones capable of carrying explosives and firing weapons, as well as an anti-drone system that can detect, capture, or neutralize hostile drones. Although no live firing was conducted for safety reasons, today’s exercise has boosted confidence that we are well-prepared to face threats.”

The Chief Minister also praised Assam Rifles for their continuous efforts to secure the North East. “Their demonstration proves how effectively terrorists and enemies can be neutralized using advanced technology,” he added.
