The Budget Session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly will commence on March 13, according to an official notification issued today.
As per convention, the first session of the calendar year will begin with an address by the Governor.
During the session, the state government is scheduled to present the Budget for the financial year 2026–27. The notification regarding the commencement of the 9th Session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly was issued by Assembly Secretary A.K. Nath on behalf of Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu.
Meanwhile, in the run-up to the Budget Session, State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy held an important review meeting at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. The meeting focused on assessing the implementation status of various projects and commitments announced in the previous Budget speech.
In a social media post, the Finance Minister stated that the meeting was attended by officials from different departments. Detailed discussions were held regarding the progress of measures announced in the 2025–26 Budget.
He wrote that a significant review was conducted at his office in the Secretariat in the presence of departmental officials to evaluate the implementation of decisions outlined in the 2025–26 financial year Budget speech.
The meeting is being viewed as particularly significant ahead of the upcoming Budget Session next month. Sources indicate that the initiative aims to review the ground-level status of earlier commitments before the presentation of the new Budget for 2026–27.
