In a significant development, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tripura Pradesh has suspended Rajib Saha, President of the 4-Barjala Mandal Committee, with immediate effect.
The suspension follows his arrest by Tripura Police yesterday, January 24, 2026, in connection with allegations of involvement in land mafia activities, extortion, and other illegal operations.
The directive for suspension came from the State President of BJP Tripura Pradesh, Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee, MP (RS), and was issued by the General Secretary, Amit Rakshit. A formal communication was sent to Saha notifying him of the suspension.
The party stated that the action was taken to maintain the integrity and image of the organization while the legal process continues.
Police officials confirmed that the investigation into the alleged criminal activities is ongoing, and further details are expected as the case progresses.
