Tripura BJP Mahila Morcha President Mimi Majumder on Thursday accused the Congress party of distorting Indian history by deliberately excluding the contributions of notable figures like Punyasloka Rani Ahilyabai Holkar.

Speaking at a workshop commemorating the 300th birth anniversary of the legendary queen, Majumder criticized the Congress-led governments for politicizing education and sidelining important historical personalities who played significant roles in shaping the nation.

“Rani Ahilyabai Holkar, renowned for her exemplary governance and unwavering commitment to public welfare, has been unfairly neglected in history textbooks. We have been taught about only those whom Congress chose to highlight,” she said.

Majumder emphasized that despite Rani Ahilyabai’s remarkable achievements, including her efforts in restoring and constructing temples across India, her legacy has remained largely forgotten due to a selective historical narrative promoted by Congress.

She further praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for bringing such iconic figures to the forefront, inspiring millions, especially women, to learn about their contributions.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness about Rani Ahilyabai’s life and legacy, encouraging women to draw inspiration from her strength and leadership. “Her story is a powerful source of motivation for today’s women leaders and politicians,” Majumder added.

The event saw participation from numerous women leaders and party workers, who paid homage to Rani Ahilyabai and deliberated on ways to uphold her values in contemporary society.
