Today, Rakhi Bandhan the festival symbolizing the eternal bond between brothers and sisters was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country.

In Tripura, the spirit of the festival extended beyond families and into the hearts of the nation’s defenders.

The Tripura Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha leaders visited the Akhaura check post to tie Rakhis on the wrists of BSF jawans on duty.

Alongside the ceremonial threads, they offered sweets as a gesture of gratitude and affection.

Rakhi Bandhan, celebrated in the Hindu month of Shravan, is a time when sisters tie sacred threads on their brothers’ wrists, seeking their lifelong protection, while brothers pledge to safeguard them selflessly. The tradition also serves as a reminder of mutual responsibility, love, and respect.

BJP Mahila Morcha President Mimi Majumder said, “On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, we convey our heartfelt wishes to all our brothers. Today, we are here at the BSF camp in Akhaura to celebrate the festival with our armed forces. This year holds special significance, as our forces successfully completed two major operations — Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. We are truly proud of our armed forces and the sacrifices they make for our safety.”

The celebrations at the Akhaura check post served as a touching reminder that the bond of Rakhi transcends family ties, embracing those who protect the nation with unwavering dedication.
