Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen was rushed to Tripura Medical College on Friday evening after collapsing at Agartala Railway Station.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that Sen was travelling to Dharmanagar in North District by train when he lost consciousness in the station’s washroom.
He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed an internal brain haemorrhage and advised urgent surgery.
“May God bless him with strength, and I pray for his speedy and complete recovery,” the Chief Minister said.
Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury, who visited the hospital, also confirmed that the Speaker would undergo surgery.
