Tripura’s iconic water palace, Neermahal, came alive with a heavy influx of tourists on the very first day of the New Year. To welcome the New Year, visitors from across the state as well as from outside Tripura flocked to the historic monument with their families and friends.
From early morning, long queues were seen at Rudrasagar Lake as tourists waited for boat rides.
The pleasant winter weather combined with the scenic beauty of the lake added to the attraction. Many visitors enjoyed boating around the water palace, capturing photographs and soaking in the serene surroundings.
Keeping tourist safety and convenience in mind, the administration made special arrangements for the day. Additional security personnel were deployed, and strict monitoring was maintained over boat operations.
Officials from the tourism department remained present throughout the day to assist visitors.
The surge in tourists also brought cheer to local traders. Owners of food stalls, handicraft vendors, and boat operators reported satisfactory business on the very first day of the year.
