The Tipra Motha Party registered a decisive victory in the elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), securing 24 out of 28 seats.
Vote counting began at 8:00 AM across 17 centres under tight security arrangements. As per election protocol, VVPAT slips were counted first, followed by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) after a 30-minute interval. The elections, held on April 12, saw a strong voter turnout of 83%.
A total of 173 candidates contested the polls, representing major parties such as the Bharatiya Janata Party, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Indian National Congress, Tipra Motha Party, and the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura.
The Tipra Motha Party emerged as the clear winner, claiming victory in 24 constituencies across the council area.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to secure 4 seats in the council.
This result marks a significant political development in Tripura’s tribal regions, reinforcing Tipra Motha’s strong presence in the TTAADC.
