Tripura Police from NCC Police Station have achieved a major breakthrough in a chain-snatching case reported from the Indranagar area. Three individuals including two men and one woman have been arrested in connection with the theft of a gold chain from a woman.
According to SDPO of NCC Police Station, Subrata Barman, the incident took place on April 16, when a woman was targeted by chain snatchers in the Indranagar locality. Following the incident, the victim filed a written complaint at the police station, prompting an investigation.
Acting on intelligence inputs, police detained the accused from the Kabarkhola area of Indranagar on Tuesday. The stolen gold chain was also recovered during the operation.
Police officials stated that swift investigation and coordinated action led to the identification and arrest of the suspects. Authorities also noted with concern that women are increasingly being found involved in such street crimes in the city.
The arrested individuals will be produced before the court, and further investigation is underway to determine whether others are involved in the case.
