Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today said that during CPI(M)’s rule terrorism was born, but under BJP’s regime the state has become terrorism-free
Dr Saha said this after welcoming 610 voters from 200 families who joined the BJP at Killa Bazar, Bagma under Gomati District.
Addressing the programme, Dr. Saha said people have realized that only BJP can ensure true development, while CPI(M) and Congress used Janajati people merely for vote bank politics.
He said BJP rejects the “politics of murder and terror” that prevailed during 35 years of Left rule. “During CPI(M)’s regime terrorism was born, but under our government Tripura has become terrorism-free. Now peace prevails and the HIRA model has boosted connectivity and development,” he stated.
Recalling an attack on BJP workers during last month’s Mann Ki Baat, the CM asserted that the party stands firmly with its karyakartas.
Dr. Saha also criticized the Left for ignoring the legacy of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya, adding, “We have given due respect to the Manikya Dynasty. Maharaja Bir Bikram contributed immensely to Tripura’s progress, but CPI(M) never recognized it. Since 2014, PM Modi has worked for the welfare and respect of the Janajati community.”
He emphasized unity of Jati and Janajati for the state’s overall development.
MLA Rampada Jamatia, BJP State General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, and Mandal President Amar Jamatia also attended the programme.
