A 15-year-old boy was rescued from Udaipur Railway Station today after he was found alone and wandering around the station premises.
According to officials, the teenager had reportedly left his home nearly two days earlier without informing his family. After railway authorities and others noticed the boy at the station, the matter was brought to the attention of the concerned authorities.
The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) intervened and rescued the boy before shifting him to a safe place. Efforts were subsequently initiated to establish his identity and trace his family.
However, officials said the teenager has so far been unwilling to share complete details about himself, including his name, address and information about his family members. During preliminary interaction, he reportedly gave indications that he could be from the Teliamura area, though this has not yet been independently confirmed.
Childline personnel are now counselling the boy in an effort to build communication and obtain more information about his background. Authorities are also conducting necessary inquiries to identify and locate his family.
Officials said efforts would continue until the boy's identity is established and contact is made with his family. The priority, they added, is to ensure his safety and facilitate his reunion with his relatives at the earliest.
