Amid rising tensions in the West Asia region, the state government has issued a stern warning to the public against panic buying of petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinders. Officials emphasized that there is no shortage of fuel or cooking gas in the state and urged citizens not to hoard supplies unnecessarily.

The Food Department, in a press release, clarified that oil marketing companies are operating normally, with adequate stocks of petrol and diesel available at all petrol pumps, including the IOCL depot in Dharmanagar. Similarly, LPG bottling at the Bodhjangarh plant is proceeding as usual, ensuring distributors receive cylinders according to demand.

Authorities cautioned that opportunists attempting to exploit the situation for black marketing will face strict action under the Essential Commodities Act. The government reiterated that it is closely monitoring the situation and reviewing supplies daily to ensure stability.

Citizens are urged to remain calm, avoid spreading or acting on rumors, and report any attempts at black marketing or hoarding to the authorities immediately.

The government’s message is clear: any attempt to create panic or profit illegally from essential commodities will not be tolerated.
