Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury today alleged that BJP workers attacked CPIM party workers and raised threatening slogans during a CPIM program.

“Just as our party program was about to end, BJP karyakartas raised slogans and also launched attacks on CPIM party workers. In this state, if anyone raises public concern, the ruling party cannot digest it,” Chaudhury said.

He further added, “In front of police personnel, the BJP workers raised slogans of tearing skin. They have not torn our skin but have unmasked the shame of their leaders. They are raising slogans openly of tearing out skin and eyes, but they just did nothing but open the mask of shame of Ramanagar MLA and Mayor Dipak Majumder.”

Chaudhury stated that the incident occurred in front of the Police Headquarters while the CPIM program was underway. He said, “If such things are happening here, just think about other parts of the state. People of Tripura, I want to appeal to them that this is a complaint or allegation, but this is the fact.”

He further accused the state government of being out of control, saying, “The state government is not under the control of the Chief Minister. This has gone so far that BJP workers are not following rules, constitution, law, and he himself is a Home Minister who only looks after faults of the opposition.”
