A serious road accident in Tripura left six people critically injured after a head-on collision between a TSR vehicle and a tomtom near the Harishnagar rail bridge in Bishalgarh, triggering panic in the area.
According to reports, the incident occurred in front of the Harishnagar rail bridge when the two vehicles collided directly with each other. Local residents who witnessed the crash immediately alerted the fire department. Fire service personnel quickly reached the spot, rescued the injured victims, and rushed them to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for initial treatment.
Among the injured are Ankita Chowdhury Das (28), a resident of Netaji Nagar in Bishalgarh, and her eight-year-old daughter, Asmita Das. Due to the severity of their injuries, several victims were later referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala. The other injured individuals have been identified as Dip Das (25) from Pratapgarh in Agartala, Sananjita Sinha (35) from Baidyadighi in Bishalgarh, Ranjit Chandra Roy (58), a havildar of the TSR 9th Battalion and a resident of Amtali, and auto driver Pradip Biswas (43) from Badharghat Charipara.
The condition of some of the injured is reported to be critical. Authorities are yet to confirm the exact cause of the accident, and further investigation is underway.
